dance teacher Miss Sanjana ✨ 💕
Sanjana is a multidisciplinary performing artist with over two decades of experience in Indian classical, folk, and global dance forms. Her journey began with the unwavering encouragement of her family, whose deep passion to see her evolve as a dancer and theatre artist laid the foundation for her artistic path. She began training in Bharatanatyam at the age of four under Vid. Aarathi Arun, completing both junior and senior levels, and later explored foundational training in Kathak, Ballet, Contemporary, and Salsa. She has trained in Belly Dance for over 10 years at the intermediate level under Payal Gupta and Meher Malik.
Sanjana has been an integral part of Beyond Taalas—a leading South Indian dance company founded by her major mentor and artistic guide, Pooja Joshi Igoor—for over 13 years. As a senior member, she has contributed extensively through performance, teaching, choreography, judging, and collaborative projects. Her diverse repertoire includes classical and folk forms such as Yakshagana, Kalari Payattu, Dollu Kunitha, and Mohiniyattam. A Balshree Award nominee in Bharatanatyam, she is also a trained theatre artist under Mandya Ramesh, who’s been a major part of her artistic journey at Natana, with performances at prominent platforms including the National School of Drama, Delhi.
In the UK, Sanjana co-founded a Bollywood Dance Society as a student and has performed at several events, including for the University of Oxford’s South Asian Arts Society.
